In the blog I have done a post about J. G. Ballard’s novel High Rise and the film that has been adapted from it. So with that in mind, related to his ‘dystopian’ world-view, the above video, from back in the days when the BBC made programmes worth viewing, pre-dates the trilogy of which High Rise is a part and deals with Ballard’s unhealthy obsession with car crashes. Gabrielle Drake is the actress featured. Also from 1970, when men’s magazines had content that was worth reading, Penthouse (vol. 5, no. 5) published an interview with Ballard by Lynn Barber, the first page of which is shown below (apologies if the reproduction is not very legible).
